Friday Fictioneers – Anti-Vax

PHOTO PROMPT © Alicia Jamtaas

There ain’t no pandemic. I seen inside the hospital. Empty. It’s all a lie. Probably, you’ll decide I’m one of those nutjobs. Think you’re better than me, don’t you?

You’re certain, right? You seen it on the news. I got a big shock for you—the media lies. All them wards full of sick people? Actors. They do that, you know.

Why would they? To stop us finding out what they’re up to, of course. I’m talking deep state here. The vaccine ain’t no cure, cause there ain’t nothing to fix. They made it up so’s they can inject everyone with trackers.

.

Friday fictioneers is a weekly challenge set by Rochelle Wisoff Fields to write a 100-word story in response to a photo prompt. I’m afraid I was naughty this week. Since Rochelle told us last week not to write a pandemic story to a toilet roll prompt, I thought I’d do one this week to a completely unrelated prompt. You can find other stories here

  1. Hilarious. Picked the wrong era to have an affair then – Bill Gates will be blackmailing all the star-crossed lovers so he can add to his billions. I mean, I’m not saying there’s anybody up to anything around here though Marjorie in Number 9 seems very friendly with the Iceland delivery man. I loved the voice in your story.

  2. Would be funny, if there weren’t people out there saying exactly this. I’m getting very good at not getting drawn into arguments with the conspiracy theorists. Just let them be. But they will have to stay in their houses once lockdown is ended for the rest of us.

      1. They rail against lockdown laws, then, when offered the chance to get rid of them by accepting a vaccine, rail against the vaccine. I almost admire their ability to see no disparity in holding both views.

      1. You’re welcome, Neil. You don’t need to lampoon them, just stating their p.o.v. is enough for them to lampoon themselves. I’m not a proponent of all of those childhood immunizations they give infants, but with Covid, it’s another story.

  3. Suspicion of the media and politicians, especially politicized health experts, is at an all-time high. My question is, what in the world did the innocent civilian-caring powers-that-be do to do deserve such calumny? Their hands are as clean as the rest of ours.

  4. A ‘friend’ told me conspiratorially that Bill Gates funds the Guardian and I told her so do I as a subscriber and I’d say hello at the next Guardian Zoom meet-up…I’m looking forward to having a mini Bill Gates injected into my DNA – better than a mini Boris Johnson.

  5. Hell trackers under our skin, great idea then the State could identify and execute those criminals that refuse to have the embedded ID device. Definitely an Orwellian world you’ve described in your tale.

On the serious note, there is a lot of propaganda about, official and of the dubious ridiculous type as well. Bring back Lord Haw-Haw for some entertainment. I am sure that will be worth theTV Licence.

  6. This is so painful to read. I’m reminded of why part of me wants to lock myself inside and never go out again. Not the pandemic – which will pass – but some of the worst tendencies of human nature that it has revealed. Not bad people either. Thanks for that mental palate cleanse. Well written.
