Friday Fictioneers – One is not enough

PHOTO PROMPT © Dale Rogerson

One is not enough—not to carry the load. Two can share it, but we bend under the strain. Happy voices ring out in song and laughter but, when we turn the corner, they have vanished.

Two is not enough. Nor even a single family—parents, little ones, and grandies.

It takes a whole community.

Friday fictioneers is a weekly challenge set by Rochelle Wisoff Fields to write a 100-word story in response to a photo prompt. You can find other stories here

  1. Communities are so important. Yesterday I was involved with a small model railway show. Fellowship brings companionship. Yesterday everyone was smiling. I was smiling as I read this story

  2. The Plague has done a lot to destroy community, and that’s a terrible shame. We have become convinced that community will be a super-spreader, and too many of us are hiding in our own homes. This story is the perfect message of our need for one another, plague or no plague!
