We all need to open such boxes, I think.

Is there a cat in the box?
Or is isolation causing excessive introspection, Neil?

The cat is both in the box and not in the box. Until you open it

No need to open the box when one is possessed of a fertile imagination. Novel.

Well, I subscribe to what Schrodinger once said and I’ll leave the person in the box be.

A box of all possibilities is, of course, the same as a box of none

Dear Neil,
A unique take on the prompt. I think I’ll leave the box alone. 😉

I love it, Neil, especially the unique presentation of your story. You open us up to a world of possibilities but also offer us the certainties of ‘three false steps and a blissful reunion’. We do not control everything.

I’m not sure we can cope with possibility without limits

Brilliant, Neil. But I have my own box to deal with, so I think I’ll leave yours to someone else 🙂

Mine wasn’t a Pandora’s box (unless of course you wish it to be)

We all have boxes, some left open, some stay closed. A thought-provoking piece indeed Neil.

Good stuff, how many boxes must there be now waiting to be opened? Strange days

open the box? but what do you do when it’s locked and the key is nowhere to be found? keep knocking your head until it gives way?

The key is reading. Lots. And widely

I could use that box right now. It took me all day to come up with a 100-word story. Very imaginative take.

Pretty cool idea, Neil. Maybe if I could open it, I wouldn’t be posting reruns. 😀

Very different, Neil! I loved it. It’s kind of like Friday Fictioneers, if it had a movie trailer dude narrating it. Open the box and select your universe. (Or see the picture……)

That’s funny my first attempt was similar but I went with the second, I had monsters, aliens and disease coming out of mine. Nice take, Neil

I opened it and you were wrong – it’s a coffin filled with gold coins…

You didn’t look all t he way to the bottom did you? The gold coins are fake. And there are still two more setbacks

Ok, but what if your box is filled with undesirable things and you spill it?
Really lovely reminder and take on the prompt.
